Encoding Video with Quicktime

Video files need to be encoded using the H.264 video codec, plus they need to be set up for internet streaming.

Quicktime's "Export For Web" option is a handy way to create proper "web-ready" MP4 videos.

For Quicktime version 10.1

1. Choose Main Menu > File > Export For Web...

2. Check the "Wi-Fi" option (Mac) or the "iPhone" option on Windows. (Click image to enlarge)

3. Navigate to the folder that was created by Quicktime and grab the mp4 file. (Usually the folder has the same name as the video file and is located in the same place as the video file.
