When you purchase a license, you will receive a registration code that you can use to "unlock" the player for the web site you registered during the purchasing process.
The registration code will also work for all "minor" version updates (version 1.x).
For example, the current version of Pickle Player is 1.0.3. The "1" indicates the major version, the other numbers "0.3" indicate the minor versions. If you've purchased a license for Pickle Player version 1, then the registration code will work for all "minor" updates. If we release a new update such as 1.1.0 or 1.9.0 (1.x) , then the registration code will still be valid. However, if we release a new major version 2.x, then a new registration code will be required.

For example, Pickle will work on all of the following sub-domains if you registered "yoursite.com":
http://www.yoursite.com
http://abc.yoursite.com
http://xyz.yoursite.com
http://anything.yoursite.com

Obtaining a registration code.
|
During the process of purchasing a license, you will be asked to enter a domain name (web site name) that you wish to register. Upon completion of a purchase you will receive an email that contains a registration code.
Since the email containing the registration code is automatically generated, sometimes the email gets "caught" by spam-blockers or junk-mail filters.
Check your junk / spam mail area for emails from pickleplayer.com or plaino.com
|
| Using your registration code. |
The registration code can be used two ways:
1. Edit the the "pickle_reg.txt" file to use your registration code, then upload it to the same folder that contains your Pickle files.
Click here for more information on how to create, and use a registration file.
|
| What does a registration code do? |
When a product is registered, the "DEMO" box no longer appears within the player. After purchasing a license and uploading the Pickle_reg.txt" file to your Pickle Installation folder, the "DEMO" box goes away. In addition, other features may be enabled beyond the evaluation version.
|
| Lost or resend registration code. |
If you've already purchased a license, but have lost the Registration Code, or would simply like to receive your registration information again, you can do so by visiting the Support area and click on the "Lost registration code" link.
|
| How do I upgrade my player? |
Your registration code will work will all players from within the same major version (purchased license for 1.2 will work with the newer version 1.4).
Simply go to the Downloads page and download the current player software, and replace the old files on your web site with the new ones. You will not have to change or edit any HTML code.
Use your existing registration code to unlock the licensed features. If you upgrading to a new major version (from 1.0 to 2.0), you will need to buy a new license to get a valid registration code.
|
| Will the registration code work for new versions? |
Registration codes work within the same "major" version. For example, If you purchase version 1.1, you will be able to download and use version 1.2. However, version 2.0 will require an new registration code and new license purchase.
|
| I have a new domain. Can I transfer the registration code and license? |
No. All registration codes / licenses are tied to a specific domain and are not transferrable.
However, under certain circumstances, we may provide you with a new or alternate registration code if both the old and new domain are identical in nature with the identical content and design.
Because there are many valid reasons a new or alternate registration code may be needed, please open a support ticket to request a new or alternate registration code.
Here are some examples of where we may provide a new or alternate registration code:
- You are developing a website on a temporary or "development" server.
- The old domain name is no longer accessible.
- The new domain name simply redirects to the existing domain. (e.g. the new domain is used as an alias for the primary domain)
- An alternative address is being used for media content or a portion of your website that is directly related to the primary website.
If it is still unclear if you need a single license or multiple licenses because your idea / web site is using a unique approach, please open a support ticket and send us an explanation of how you intend to use Pickle so that we can determine if you need a single license or multiple licenses for your situation.
